Re: West Ham are no longer a club for the working class
I can't help agreeing with him on most of it in relation to the food etc. It's not what we would have chosen in terms of content or cost, whatever class we happen to be. In defence of those selling at that price outside the stadium I suspect they pay a tidy sum to have a patch there which needs to covered. As for his £1.50 burger. There was a bloke that had a trolley outside the cafe that did £1.80 hot dogs so I'll wager the burgers were about the same. It doesn't mean the author can imply that £1.50 was the going rate though.

No doubt I'll end up having to get emergency food from one of these places sometime but I'll only have myself to blame if I do. There are plenty of places to eat around Stratford and I suspect there will be arrangements with some pubs to allow burger vans to take up residence on their property on match day.

I ventured to the Crate Brewery, had one beer, then moved about 30 yards to the Howling Hops which was a bit more rugged. I can't see any reason to return to the Crate, it certainly wouldn't be one I would use in a article about matchday drinking options as it is just not a football type pub.

The guy is a journalist and has a point to prove. His article was embelished to prove it. I walked into our new stadium and was just bemused as to how we could have taken such a step up in so many ways at bugger all cost. Why he chose to see it otherwise one can only guess. No doubt he is someone that can't accept change. We will find our new level in terms of pre-match drinking and be grateful that the ground is in a wide open space and not "within a community". I've seen a number of people hit by cars on matchdays who would have benefited from this move!!

We know that you desperately jump on anything that might vindicate your decision to turn your back on West Ham, but that really does top the lot! Good piece my fucking left nut.

Yawn

What a crock of shit

If you want working class teams, look in the lower leagues or non league although you'll still struggle - if your living in the 80s and still discussing all this old skool class related clap trap (which, as others have mentioned, doesn't really exist in the same way any more anyway) and laughing at old Ben Elton sketches then modern football isn't for you and you've probably missed that fact that you can't pay £3 to get in any more in even league two (sorry, division 4)

This article is a just a man struggling to get his nut around the fact 2016 isn't 1988.

I'm surprised he didn't moan about substitutes and the back pass rule.

Having seen what we have at Stratford, anyone who gets glassy eye'd over that fucking shit hole Green St needs a fucking word with themselves.

Things move on and move forward

Those West Ham fans who did, were basically ignored...

It's the premier league that's left the working class behind. We've just had to go with it in the end.

Gav am agreeing with you in principle. Glad ticket prices have come down there, my younger daughter wants to come to game.

My point was just that for many the horse bolted long ago.
